Apples are... well… the apples of our eye! With over 7,500 different varieties of this fruit, there’s a lot to love. Each type of apple has its own unique taste, ranging from sweet to tart to mild. Apples are in season from the end of summer to early winter, which is why apple flavors are commonly associated with fall weather. 

Apples provide us with loads of antioxidants, which can help prevent LDL or (“bad”) cholesterol from oxidizing, inhibiting inflammation. Apples also contain an amazing antioxidant called quercetin, which has been said to aid endurance. This makes apples an amazing pre-workout snack! Apples are loaded with a ton of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins C, K, B6, and riboflavin and potassium. 

We always prefer sliced or whole apples over sauces and juices. Not only do apple sauces and juices contain a lot of unnecessary added sugar, but they also tend to be less filling. Whole apples are amazing at satisfying cravings, thanks to their refreshing sweetness. Apples are delicious on their own, but we love pairing them with a bit of cheese or almond butter for dipping.
