A lot of people have noticed that we use a ton of onions! Most people either love them or hate them, but onions are a great way to add flavor without amping up the sodium or calories.

It’s been said that onions can protect the heart and blood vessels, and prevent antibacterial infections. Onions - particularly raw onions - are high in sulphuric compounds that can prevent certain types of cancer. They also contain high amounts of antioxidants, especially quercetin, which can lower LDL (or “bad”) cholesterol, raise HDL (or “good”) cholesterol, and fight off infections.

There is so much you can do with onions - add them to sandwiches and wraps, saute them with peppers and other veggies, mix them in with salads, and more. We add onions wherever we can - into our salads, rice bowls, and breakfast skillets!
